AHERI Hub Terms of Service

The rules for using AHERI Hub safely, responsibly, and confidentially.

Version: 1.0 (Draft for Legal Review)Date: 28 September 2026Governing Law: Federal Republic of Nigeria

These Terms in Simple Words

  • AHERI Hub is here to listen, guide and connect you to help. It is not an emergency service. If you are in danger now, call 112.
  • The chat companion is a computer programme. It can make mistakes and does not replace a doctor, counsellor or lawyer.
  • Keep your PIN and secret word to yourself, and be kind and honest.
  • Schools see only general numbers. They must never try to find out who a student is.
  • AHERI Hub is free for students, youths and women to use. Schools pay a subscription.
1. Agreement

About These Terms

These Terms of Service ('Terms') are an agreement between you and the Advocacy for Healing, Empowerment and Resilience Initiative (AHERI), a non-profit organisation registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (Registration Number 9052560), located at 26F, Sabondele Shopping Complex, Jabi, Abuja, Nigeria.

They apply when you use any part of AHERI Hub: the web pages at www.aherinitiative.org/aheri-hub, the web app, the mobile app, the WhatsApp chat service and the school dashboard (together, "AHERI Hub").

By using AHERI Hub, you agree to these Terms and to the AHERI Hub Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use AHERI Hub. You can still see emergency numbers and helplines at any time.

  • No professional medical/legal advice: AHERI Hub offers general guidance to help you understand options. Speak with a qualified professional for diagnosis or legal action—we can help connect you.
  • Helpline updates: Helpline numbers are checked regularly, but external services change. Please inform us if a number is inactive.

  • Never type your PIN in WhatsApp—AHERI Hub sends a secure link to set it.
  • Do not use another person's slip, Care ID, or PIN, or impersonate anyone.
  • Destroy or securely store your slip after account activation.

Interactive Tools

AI Companion & Reporting Tools

5. Using the Chat Companion

The chat companion uses artificial intelligence—it is a computer programme, not a human, and can sometimes provide wrong or incomplete answers. Do not rely on it alone for critical health or legal decisions.

  • When risk keywords are detected, trained AHERI staff review the conversation to step in safely.
  • You can request human assistance anytime by typing "talk to a person".

6. Making a Report

You can report bullying, abuse, or safety concerns completely anonymously. You will receive a unique report code and private inbox for follow-ups without revealing your identity. Please report honestly—false reporting to intentionally harm others is taken seriously. A report to AHERI is not a formal police report, but we will help guide you to appropriate authorities.

7. What You Must Not Do

  • Bully, threaten, harass, or insult anyone.
  • Share sexual content or child exploitation materials.
  • Share hateful content regarding tribe, religion, disability, or gender.
  • Attempt to deanonymize users or share private personal details.
  • Post false information, scams, advertisements, or spam.
  • Hack, overload, copy, or scrape the AHERI Hub platform.
  • Violate any laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

8. Rules for Partner Schools

  • Collect parental consent for under-18s prior to distributing sign-in slips.
  • Hand out slips randomly with zero tracking of recipient identities.
  • Use dashboards strictly for student support—never discipline or grading.
  • Never attempt to identify students or inspect their chats, reports, or slips.
  • Keep logins personal and maintain full confidentiality.
